Here was another bangin’ party that went down this past Thursday over at the 400 block of North Broadway in downtown Santa Ana. Plann B was in the place to hype the crowd up, getting them warmed up to what would become the Detroit Takeover! Just so you know, and just in case you havent heard: DJ House Shoes is nothing nice when it comes to him getting on the tables. If you havent been to Shift the last time he stepped in the place (my first ‘Shift’), then hopefully you were here this past thursday. Sucks to be you if you werent.
I leave The Crosby for a month, and come back see they ‘fixed’ up the place. They added a stage where the DJ can spin their tunes, they took the boomboxes off the wall and added three mirrors, hanging slightly above the tables. They took the paint off the walls (it seems as if it looks much better, though). It looked like a whole new different spot when I walked up in it. And… it got PACKED like crazy.
Who would’ve expected to see Ta’Raach spinning? In all honesty, I know I didnt (most would agree); I thought he was going to be performing lol. Let’s keep it real: he really wasnt bad at all! He spun some dope joints; if I can recall, he and House Shoes spun some unheard Dilla joints that has never been heard. What was even crazier was that they did a DPG set and most of us [LBC] heads went nuts! It was all good in the hood this time around, as the crowd got down to the tunes, giving the patrons that werent dancing a hard time to pass thru the crowd! Let’s see what will they have in store for next month, having Detroit in the house was an awesome opener for 2011…
